Baby Ryder – AZ Newborn Photography
This little guy was the sweetest!! He slept SO good for his newborn session! He is part of my baby plan so we will get to see him as he grows this next year, if he is half as good for his other sessions as he is now I will be one lucky photographer!

I love these shots with mom and dad…

CONGRATULATIONS Jason and Meghan, he is so precious!
How can I not share this sneak peek of little Ryder? He’s the baby to the beautiful maternity session we recently photographed!
I love this image. A new baby held tight in his Daddy’s strong hands. And of course this image reminds me of the sweet song…”Daddy’s Hands” which has now been in my head while I worked on Ryder’s photos. So now for you to enjoy a song in your head (here’s some of the lyrics) =)
I remember Daddy´s hands, folded silently in prayer.
And reaching out to hold me, when I had a nightmare.
You could read quite a story, in the callouses and lines.
Years of work and worry had left their mark behind.
I remember Daddy´s hands, how they held my Mama tight,
And patted my back, for something done right.
There are things that I´ve forgotten, that I loved about the man,
But I´ll always remember the love in Daddy´s hands.
Daddy’s hands were soft and kind when I was cryin´.
Daddy´s hands, were hard as steel when I´d done wrong.
Daddy´s hands, weren´t always gentle
But I´ve come to understand.
There was always love in Daddy´s hands.
More of this sweet little boy soon!
Three is a crowd – Triplet Photography
“Three’s a crowd?” Not for these girls. They enjoyed being cuddled together and hitting each other in the face for these photos =)
Meet A, B & C…shown in order of birth and coinciding with their names (which certainly helped me keep them straight). This was quite the session, identical triplet girls that due to hospitalization, surgeries and illness were already over FOUR months old for our shoot. Despite being that old, each only weighed in between 6 and 8 pounds like a typical full term baby. They have come a long way from their 1-2 pound birth weight and overcome some major hurdles as well. I was definitely NERVOUS, but thanks to some good help (thanks Lindsey) and a lot of patience I’m pleased with the results.
I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to photograph them so Mom and Dad could still remember them so small. They were super sweet and so fun to spend the morning with. Since they’re already a few months old they were definitely set in their ways…one liked her head one way and another would want it the other way.
Or how A&B (on right) would let us curl up their legs but C would not have anything to do with those legs being close and tucked in!
Here’s baby A, the smallest of the bunch and also the one who’s gone through the most and is really lucky to be alive. Thank goodness for modern medicine to help these babies who were born at 24weeks!
A close up of “B” isn’t she cute?
Cute baby bums…
And finally the peaceful, sleeping bunch…I bet their parents wish they were always like this…especially through the night!
Thanks to Mom and Dad for trusting us to work with your sweet babies and letting me share them here!
Names aren’t being used for their privacy.
Feel free to leave a comment for the wonderful parents pulling off THREE babies at once!
Gracie Girl – Newborn Photography
I’m pretty sure every little “Grace” eventually is called “Gracie girl” since it’s such a cute little nickname! I’m in LOVE with this sweet pea who travelled all the way from UTAH for her newborn session at just one week old! And that was by CAR (yes her momma was a brave soul). I’m so glad we could get her photos when she was super little and new as I know she’ll change so much within just a few short weeks.
Here’s some of my favorites…
She was generous with her smiles…
Baby girl Gracie – AZ Newborn Photography
Oh my goodness! Summer is here and that means some quality time with the kids swimming and even a little bit of ORGANIZING our spaces a little bit! But this past weekend I was blessed to photograph this SWEET new baby girl, only 8days old! She was a trooper for our lengthy session and I can’t wait to share a little more of her session very soon. In the meantime you can just enjoy her dang cute style in this photo. Her mom and family have started a little boutique to sell these ADORABLE baby bum covers and even the new and different headband you see. Leave a comment if you want their info!
I will be sharing more of their boutique items and of Grace very soon.
The Birth of Owen – AZ Birth Photography
This was such an AMAZING birth story and I’m excited to share it with you. This is an example of how birth is never exactly what you dream it might be. These two were expecting their first baby and thus had no experience to compare how the delivery would be. What started out as a standard delivery turned out to be a long, painful and extremely difficult delivery. Little Owen just wouldn’t come down and poor mom labored for an amazing 38 hours. The level of exhaustion she endured was crazy, not to mention the pain, agony and worry for a first delivery. Despite the circumstances Jen was incredible and beautiful throughout the whole ordeal. She had so much strength and determination and in the end she was able to deliver that baby boy and avoid the inevitable C-section that was so close to being done.
Here is the slideshow of Owen’s birth experience. You may want to grab a tissue…
And when you are done watching, leave a little message for Jen and all the incredible women who go through SO MUCH to bring beautiful little children into our world!
Congratulations Russ and Jen and thanks SO MUCH for allowing me to document and share this personal experience.
First Breath – AZ Birth Photography
Recently I’ve been developing another area of my business, Birth Photography. It’s been an AMAZING and very rewarding experience for me! Babies are such a miracle and the journey of coming into the world in and of itself is also a MIRACLE. I LOVE the story I can tell through photos of labor and delivery. The emotions captured can not be duplicated and are long since forgotten without beautiful photos to refer back to. I have photos and video clips put together from each of my children’s birth to tell their birth stories…but I never had a professional take them, thus the quality and complete coverage is lacking. There is something very different about having a dedicated person at the delivery for that purpose. Often times grandma or a spouse is responsible for those photos and not only does that mean poor quality photos, but also it takes away from their ability to have joy and celebrate the moment. There is also a lot of value having someone that is trained to capture those moments within the parameters given, whether that is low lighting or limited space…a professional birth photographer can work with those things and still provide wonderful memories.
I’m pleased to now offer this service to my clients and anxious to develop it even further. I’ve appropriately titled this area of my business “First Breath.” I would love to add more birth stories to my portfolio for a dedicated website in the near future, please let me know if you are interested in having your birth photographed. My birth packages also include a full newborn session within two weeks of delivery so that we can get the cute details and poses of your baby while they are super sleepy and bendy. We also include custom photo birth annoucements as well, save your money from the cheesy hospital session…these images will far surpass what they take there for you!
During the summer months while outside sessions and weddings are much fewer, I’m willing to offer a limited number of my birth sessions at a reduced rate. Let me know if you are interested!
Check back today for an example of a recent birth session!
Mother’s Week
In honor of upcoming Mother’s Day I hope to do a few posts highlighting Mother’s this week. We’ll start it off with the birth slideshow from a few months ago of Baby Keeley.
Keeley made her entrance very quickly allowing me to only get a few pre-birth shots before she was here. Thankfully we were still able to capture a lot of images to tell a beautiful birth story. Here is the slideshow…if you can’t view click here to watch.
Nathan @ 2 months
My little nephew Nathan is just the sweetest. We captured him when he was just a few days old when he was super sleepy and bendable and cuddly. But now Nathan is getting bigger and gaining a little personality so we had to update his photos, plus we needed some with mom and dad since he gave up on us by the time we got to that during the newborn session! Here’s Nathan a few weeks ago…kind of sporting a little bit of tired and grumpy…with a hint of a smile every once in awhile =)

See…here’s a bit of the grumpy…and I must say I absolutely ADORE it =)
Don’t be fooled…he’s got happy in him too!

Why or why do I not have a photo like this with my baby? Seriously…Sally looks gorgeous and I want to eat that baby he’s so sweet.
I must confess, I saw this image somewhere in blogland and I had to try it…so whoever inspired it, thank you =) I think Nathan’s expression MAKES the shot.
Nathan is already 3 months since I’m a few weeks out on posting this…STOP GROWING LITTLE BUDDY…it’s going too fast!
